Research That Impacts the Commonwealth

The Agricultural Research Building will serve as the college’s central research hub, closely aligned with its teaching and extension missions. Equipped with cutting-edge laboratories, rooftop research greenhouses, classrooms, and office spaces for faculty, graduate students, and staff, it will facilitate collaborative research endeavors. Additionally, it will feature a versatile 250-seat auditorium adaptable for both educational lectures and public events.

 

The Agricultural Research Building will house the following:

  • Department of Entomology
  • Department of Horticulture
  • Department of Animal & Food Sciences
  • Department of Plant & Soil Sciences
  • State Entomology Office
  • 9 Teaching Labs
  • 250-seat auditorium
  • 59,830 nsf of wet lab & support space
  • 1,484 nsf of dry lab space
  • Rooftop headhouse/greenhouse complex
  • Plant Diagnostic Lab
  • Necropsy, vivarium & insect rearing labs
  • Office & meeting spaces
  • Growth chambers, cold storage
  • Food Sensory Lab
