The Meats & Foods Workforce Development Center is designed as a “one-stop-shop” facility that supports the state’s multibillion-dollar animal agriculture industry, family farms, value-added production, food safety, promotion and the state’s recent $6 million investment in expanding processing capacity.
The Meats & Foods Workforce Development Center is still in the programming phase, but will likely house the following:
- Workforce Development Training Center
- Food Safety Training Center
- Occupational health & safety training
- Meat Science research
- Food Systems Innovation Center
- Food as Health Alliance
- Demonstration kitchen
- Value-added food production/processing
