Research & Extension Hub for the Commonwealth

The Meats & Foods Workforce Development Center is designed as a “one-stop-shop” facility that supports the state’s multibillion-dollar animal agriculture industry, family farms, value-added production, food safety, promotion and the state’s recent $6 million investment in expanding processing capacity.

 

The Meats & Foods Workforce Development Center is still in the programming phase, but will likely house the following:

  • Workforce Development Training Center
  • Food Safety Training Center
  • Occupational health & safety training
  • Meat Science research
  • Food Systems Innovation Center
  • Food as Health Alliance
  • Demonstration kitchen
  • Value-added food production/processing

Project Details

The Meats & Foods Workforce Development Center is still in the programming phase, but more information will be released as details are finalized.
